LaValley Industries builds equipment that handles pipe safely with total control in the hands of the equipment operator. We design purpose-built systems for pipeline construction and utility work that take crews out of the danger zone and keep jobs moving. Our core products—the DECKHAND® pipe handling system and the TONGHAND® excavator-mounted exit-side wrench—are built to grip, lift, rotate, place, and torque pipe from the cab. No taglines. No ground crews wrestling steel. Just control where it matters. These systems are used worldwide on pipeline spreads and HDD sites where downtime costs money and mistakes cost more. LaValley Industries products are built for jobsite realities. Modular designs scale across machine classes and work with a wide range of equipment brands. That means easier sourcing, simpler transport, and consistent operation across regions and crews. From North America to Europe and beyond, the standard stays the same: predictable performance, tough construction, and equipment that holds up under pressure. We work closely with contractors, OEMs, and international partners to solve field problems, not marketing ones. The result is equipment that reduces risk, cuts manual handling, and lowers total cost of ownership over the life of the machine. From pipe yards to the right-of-way, LaValley Industries builds tools that get the job done.

DECKHAND L Pipe Handler

DECKHAND L Pipe Handler

LaValley Industries

Designed for mainline pipeline work, the DECKHAND® L provides a secure grip and precise load placement even in challenging weather or terrain. It uses a modular head with interchangeable arms to handle large diameter pipe, poles, or mats safely from the cab. The DECKHAND system is a modular design that consists of a main head unit that works in tandem with interchangeable arm attachments. The head unit mounts to any brand of excavator; the excavator’s auxiliary hydraulics then safely and efficiently power the system. Interchangeable arms are used to pick up pipe, poles, casings, or road mats and securely lift, lower, rotate, and tilt the load under the total control of the operator inside the excavator cab. DECKHAND Arms: • Pipe Arm - Handles pipe on and off trailers, rail cars, or pipe racks without disturbing adjacent pipe. Does not damage coatings. Available in individual pipe diameter sizes, in addition to an interchangeable style for small diameters and flexible materials. • Utility Arm - Handles pipe, poles, I-beams, and casings in all weather conditions. Fast and efficient in vertical applications such as utility pole installation. • Mat Arm - Designed to handle and position wood or composite road or swamp mats using interchangeable tines to adjust to different mat widths. • Roller Arm - Handles utility poles and pipe with the ability to rotate material in place for precise alignment during installation.
