For Margherita Laurini, CFO at Laurini Officine Meccaniche, listening closely to the people working in the field has always been key.
“In the beginning we focused on designing and manufacturing standard machines,” Margherita explains. “But by listening carefully to operators and professionals working directly on construction sites, we realised that many jobs simply cannot be solved with standard equipment.”
That insight gradually led Laurini toward developing tailor-made machines designed for very specific applications. Today the company is recognised internationally for its specialised equipment used in pipeline construction, demolition and tunnelling projects.
“We enjoy transforming complex customer challenges into practical, engineered solutions,” Margherita says. “Stepping back from a challenge is simply not an option.”

Despite Laurini’s global reputation, its roots remain humble.
“It is deeply rewarding to know that wherever we go, someone has heard of Laurini despite being based in a small village in Northern Italy,” she says.
For Margherita, the industry is ultimately about understanding the real needs on construction sites.
“When you listen closely to the people actually doing the work, you realise how often standard equipment is simply not enough. That’s where specialised machines make the difference.”
She also sees clear changes in what customers expect today. Companies are increasingly looking for machines that combine efficiency, flexibility and cost savings.
“Customers want equipment that is easy to transport within legal dimensions, simple to assemble on site and versatile enough to be used for different types of work,” she explains.
At the same time, many specialised manufacturers face a common challenge: visibility.
“Highly specialised providers often operate in niche markets, which can make global visibility difficult despite strong technical expertise,” Margherita says.
That is one of the reasons Laurini joined Justr.
“Being on Justr increases our international visibility and helps us connect directly with decision-makers actively searching for specialised partners.”
Looking ahead, Margherita believes specialised engineering will only become more important.
“We see ourselves as craftsmen even tailors designing machines precisely adapted to specific needs,” she says.
