Description

TONGHAND Exit Side Wrench

TONGHAND Exit Side Wrench

LaValley Industries

The TONGHAND® is a hydraulic excavator attachment that serves as the horizontal directional drilling (HDD) industry’s exit-side wrench and rod handler. It enables precision make/break of threaded drill rod, reamers, and pipe joints directly from the cab, eliminating unsafe torquing methods, removing personnel from working in danger zones, and boosting jobsite efficiency. TONGHAND allows drill rod to be torqued and un-torqued with precision by a single operator from the comfort and safety of the excavator cab. The patented TongVise™ easily makes and breaks joints with guaranteed precision, delivering up to 120,000 ft-lbs of torque directly at the connection site. Telescoping roller arms are used to pick up drill rod (from 5-9 inches OD) and securely lift, tilt, shift, rotate and precisely position a single rod or drill string under the total control of the operator. Gull-wing arms instantly move out of the way for reamer and tooling swaps. TONGHAND works with reamers (up to 60 inches), adapter subs, and drill pipe connections from 6.5-10 inches OD, and can handle drill strings up to 10 joints in length. It mounts to any brand of excavator, the excavator’s auxiliary hydraulics safely and efficiently power the TONGHAND.

The TONGHAND®S is a hydraulic excavator attachment that serves as the horizontal directional drilling (HDD) industry’s exit-side wrench and rod handler. It enables precision make/break of threaded drill rod, reamers, and pipe joints directly from the cab, eliminating unsafe torquing methods, removing personnel from working in danger zones, and boosting jobsite efficiency. Suitable for the upper end of mini drill rig connection sizes, and the lower end of maxi drill rig connection sizes. TONGHAND S allows drill rod to be torqued and un-torqued with precision by a single operator from the comfort and safety of the excavator cab. The patented TongVise™ easily makes and breaks joints with guaranteed precision, delivering up to 70,000 ft-lbs of torque directly at the connection site. Telescoping roller arms are used to pick up drill rod (from 3.25-5 inches OD) and securely lift, tilt, shift, rotate and precisely position a single rod or drill string under the total control of the operator. Gull-wing arms instantly move out of the way for reamer and tooling swaps. TONGHAND S works with reamers, adapter subs, and drill pipe connections from 4.13-6.75 inches OD (up to 8 inches OD with reduced torque ability). Mounting to any brand of excavator, the excavator’s auxiliary hydraulics safely and efficiently power the TONGHAND S.

DECKHAND LT Pipe Handler

DECKHAND LT Pipe Handler

LaValley Industries

Purpose-built for horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and utility work, the DECKHAND® LT combines safety and cost efficiency for handling drill rod, pipe, and tooling. The DECKHAND system is a modular design that consists of a main head unit that works in tandem with interchangeable arm attachments. The head unit mounts to any brand of excavator; the excavator’s auxiliary hydraulics then safely and efficiently power the system. Interchangeable arms are used to pick up pipe, poles, casings, or road mats and securely lift, lower, rotate, and tilt the load under the total control of the operator inside the excavator cab. DECKHAND Arms: • Utility Arm - Handles pipe, poles, I-beams, and casings in all weather conditions. Fast and efficient in vertical applications such as utility pole installation. • Directional Drilling Arm - Handles drill rod or uncoated pipe on and off trailers, rail cards, or pipe racks without disturbing adjacent pipe.
