SETTANTA Pipeliner Excavator

The SETTANTA Pipeliner is a specialized excavator platform developed in collaboration with LaValley Industries, integrating the DECKHAND® pipe handling system for full-service pipeline operations. With a liftable cab, variable-width undercarriage, and modular arms, it offers superior maneuverability and control over pipe handling tasks across rail, truck, and yard loading contexts.

Built on a compact 33-ton platform that delivers lifting performance comparable to a 45-ton machine, the SETTANTA Pipeliner integrates the DECKHAND system into a modular boom and stick architecture designed for pipeline construction environments.

At its core is Laurini’s Hydraulic Quick Coupling System (HQCS), enabling fully automatic electronic and hydraulic connection of interchangeable front-end configurations directly from the cab. The Pipeliner configuration features a modular quick coupler optimized for DECKHAND integration, providing precise 360° load control, enhanced safety, and improved productivity during pipe yard operations, loading and unloading of trucks and railcars, and right-of-way handling.

Key performance features include:

• Hydraulic variable-width undercarriage that expands from a 2.5 m transport width to 3.7 m in operation for stability without special transport permits

• Hydraulically elevated cab rising up to 5 ft for superior visibility

• Compact chassis delivering up to 25% more lifting capacity than similarly sized excavators

• Powered by a 350 HP Scania DC09 engine paired with an advanced hydraulic system, ensuring consistent torque, lift, and control under demanding pipeline conditions
